The wife of the doctor who died in Port Harcourt after contracting the Ebola Virus Disease is positive and has been transferred to Lagos for treatment, the Commissioner for Health Rivers State has said. Samson Parker said about 200 people have been traced and put under surveillance, “anyone of them that shows traces will be tested and quarantined, but so far no one has shown traces” Speaking as a guest by telephone on Channels Television, the Commissioner added that the two cases that were confirmed in the state were the late doctor and his wife. Minister of State for Health, Dr. Khaliru Alhassan, Saturday said the Federal Government was committed to containing the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in the country. Alhassan made this known during a chat with newsmen in Sokoto. Air France has temporarily suspended all its flights to Sierra Leone due to the current Ebola outbreak in West Africa. In a statement released by management of Air France today August 27th, the French government recommended the national carrier to suspend all its flight to Sierra Leone. "Given the way the epidemic has evolved and the condition of the health systems.....the public authorities recommend to Air France that it temporarily suspend its services to Freetown" the statement read in part Meanwhile British Airways has also suspended all its flights to Liberia and Sierra Leone till 2015. 26 year old Kingsley Nwabueze (pictured above) has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Criminal Investigative Department for stealing and absconding with his boss's Infinity FX 35 SUV valued at N6.5 million, less than three months after he was employed. Continue... According to reports by Tribune, on April 10th this year, Kingsley drove his boss, Abosede Olubiyi, in her newly acquired Infinity FX 35 SUV to an appointment in Yaba, Lagos. When they got to their destination, the woman told Kingsley to find a place to park the car as there was no parking space in front of the building they were going to. The lady came down from the car and went for her appointment and that was the last time she saw Kingsley and her car. The matter was immediately reported to the Lagos State Police command.
