There are currently more than 700 million women alive today who got married before their 18th birthday and more than one in three (about 250 million) entered into union before age 15, the report states. Further more boys are also married as children, but girls are disproportionately affected. It was during this discussion that the issue of underage marriage surfaced,that is if a married female under 18 is considered to be of full age.
