“Without the help of the Public health law, which was passed in the year 2002, we would have been in trouble. This was one of the things our partners asked immediately they arrived. The law also gives the state the opportunity to arrest anyone whose health will endanger others. When we said yes, they were happy and they said that was where they started their work. Without the law, we could not have been in a mess also. “When the cremation law was passed years ago, some residents denied and kicked against it. We said it was not compulsory upon any one, But if Lagos state wants to retain its status and achieve its aim. The law caters for foreigners that cremating is part of their life style. he also said we did not foresee Ebola but the laws became was veritable tool for us to curtail the spread of the ebola virus because corpses are more dangerous than the carrier of the virus. Other states are now going to the parliament to seek the passage of the law.” “The Nigeria’s Ebola Virus Disease victims would have died in vain if we surrender to the virus. They are heroes and they must be appropriately recognised as it is. We must continue to fight against it . There are ebola problems in Liberia, Sierra Leone and others west African countries. Their population not up to what we have in this country [Nigeria] especially in Lagos State to be precise. For Lagos alone, the capacity of the state encompasses many of thoseGov.Fashola also said that Nigeria, being the fifth largest economy in Africa, should make efforts to help her neighbours who are still struggling to fight the disease.
