It was stated last week by WHO that ebola survivors blood could be use help a patient under the attack to recover also from the disease and this week the also said people are selling the serum
The serum of fully recovered patient which is made from the blood of Deadly Ebola Virus survivors is reportedly being offered for sale on the black market in some West African affected countries as ‘treatment’ for the disease, Daily Mail reports.
Health workers/experts raised an alarm over the selling of unapproved serums saying that they could contain other dangerous infections.
WHO is said to have vowed to work in partnership with the governments of the affected countries to stop the unapproved serum trade.
Also Bloomberg News reports that the 'serum' is made from the blood of the deadly virus survivors' , which contains antibodies which could help in fighting the virus.
thus Director-General of the WHO,named Margaret Chan, also said:
‘There is a danger in such a serums and could contain other infections and wouldn’t be administered properly.'
he also made it clear that there is no cure for the disease yet
