Geoffrey Oji is the winner of Project Fame Season 7

Geoffrey was announced the  winner after his final performance which was a rendition of‘Beautiful’ by Asa.
He is walking away with a N5 million in prize money, a brand new car and a recording contract.Geoffrey Oji who is the winner of MTN Project Fame Season 7 2014, beating five other finalists with his final performance of Asa’s song, ‘Beautiful’. Geoffrey, upon being declared winner, ‘has been handed a cheque of N5m, a brand new car as well as a recording contract’. Another contestant, Ruky was named first runner-up, winning a cash prize of N2m and a car for her placing while the young man known as Christian was named second runner up and was also rewarded with N2m and a car. In 4th place is Clement who was also given the sum of N2m. A rousing guest performance on the Project Fame stage was delivered by Juju icon, Sir Shina Peters and award winning dance queen Kaffy. Geoffrey becomes the seventh winner of the popular TV show, joining past winners including Iyanya, Myke, Chidinma, Monica, AYO and Olawale. ...

FG Committed to Containing Ebola Scourge by minister

Minister of State for Health, Dr. Khaliru Alhassan, Saturday said the Federal Government was committed to containing the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in the country. Alhassan made this known during a chat with newsmen in Sokoto. He stated that the scourge had already been contained in Lagos state while a special team was mobilised to Rivers state to contain it. “Presently, a specialised team comprising staff members of the World Health Organisation, Centre for Disease Control, Atlanta, United States and Geneva and Medecin Sans Frontiers, are already in Port Harcourt to address the situation. “We are confident we have won the war in Lagos, though we still have one patient receiving attention there but we are still not out of the woods yet. So, Nigerians should remain calm, as we are adequately prepared to contain the spread of the scourge,” he said. Details to follow
