
The Health Minister of health has confirmed the death of a woman who was infected by late infected doctor, named Dr.Iyke Enemuo
Ebola has now claimed another life in Port Harcourt capital city of Rivers state, the Health Minister, Onyebuchi Chukwu has confirmed this.
Also the Minister’s spokesperson, Dan Nwomeh confirmed it also via Twitter yesterday saying:
“The 7th and latest Ebola death in Nigeria is the female patient on admission in the same hospital where the late doctor was admitted”
A source Vanguard reported that the infected person is an elderly woman who shared a hospital room with late doctor, Iyke Enemuo.
Prof. Chukwu this clear that:
“Total number of deaths from the deadly Virus in Nigeria has now rise to seven. 1st is the index (first) Patrick Sawyer's case, which occurred in a private hospital in Lagos; 4 in the Lagos isolation ward, onin the Port Harcourt isolation ward, the female patient who was admitted in the same hospital where the late Port Harcourt doctor was also admitted, while the other one was the doctor who was infected by the ECOWAS Commission official in Port Harcourt and who did not come under the care and management of the Incident Management Committee.”
Enemuo was infected by ECOWAS diplomat, Koye Olu-Ibukun who came in contact with index case, Patrick Sawyer but refused going to quarantine and travelled to Port Harcourt where the late doctor admitted and treated him in a hotel.
